Two brothers of our chapter earned excellent accolades this semester. Max Beal, former SigEp president, successfully ran for UNK Student Body President. With exceptional marketing through social media, tabling, and presenting to various organizations on campus, Max and his cabinet unveiled their platform with the motto “Your Voice, Your Choice”. Their platform included increased transparency, improvement of academics, campus improvements, and a true voice in the future plan for Greek campus housing. Beal demonstrated strong leadership and was very well-spoken throughout his campaign eventually leading him to the presidency. We are all proud to call him our brother and are very excited for him this next year as he has plans to make our UNK experience better.
Austin Jacobsen, former SigEp VP of Programming as well as VP of Membership Development, received the Outstanding Senior award from UNK. Austin was one of five seniors selected for this prestigious award, being the only male to receive it. The Outstanding Senior award is given to UNK seniors for their excellence in scholarship and leadership, as well as their involvement and dedication to UNK and the Kearney community. We as a chapter are very proud of Austin for the way he has represented SigEp during his undergraduate years. He has set an example for future SigEps as he was incredibly balanced in every aspect of life. His involvement in SigEp and in the Kearney community has truly made a big impact on many people.
