This summer brothers Max Beal (current Chapter President) and Trevor Daubert (former Vice President) had the honor of attending SigEp Conclave—a biennial leadership conference that honors distinguished alumni and excellence in undergraduate chapter operations. The conference spanned 5 days, took place in Houston Texas, and had over 300 SigEp alumni and undergraduates present.
Max was one of 14 undergraduates in the nation picked to sit on the Grand Chapter’s Alumni Director Nomination Committee. He and his committee spent over 12 hours each day interviewing and narrowing down the best applicants for the coveted positions on the National Board of Directors. Max remarked that conclave was unlike anything he’d ever experienced before, and how many connections he had made with brothers who lived everywhere from New York to California.
In the meantime, Trevor attended various informational sessions aimed at furthering his knowledge of the resources offered by SigEp Nationals. He also participated in a networking event where he connected with an alumni who practices within his area of undergraduate study: orthopedic medicine.
To top the experience off, the Nebraska Gamma Chapter was honored to receive SigEp’s most prestigious national award: the Buchanan cup. The Buchanan cup, often referred to as the ‘Bucc Cup’ signifies that UNK’s chapter is in the top 10% of ALL undergraduate chapters in the nation. The application required to be considered for the award is over 50 pages long and examines every aspect of fraternity operations from chapter finances to Alumni Board Participation. This was the 7th time the chapter has received the award in its history.
